From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) During aerial application, the engine experienced internal mechanical failure. The connecting rod broke causing the engine to lose power and fail. The pilot executed an emergency off airport landing on a dirt road. After landing the aircraft safely, the left wing caught some tall grass along the road causing it to veer off to the left and nose-over onto the prop. The prop and engine components were damaged, however the firewall and aircraft was not damaged. The pilot was wearing seat-belt and harness protection and was not injured.
