From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot attempted a landing at Lafayette airport, but performed a go-around when he thought that there was a nose gear problem. Propellers struck the ground and an antenna on the belly of the aircraft was broken. Pilot noted vibrations from engines at full power. Pilot extended the landing gear using both the gear switch and the emergency extension system due to his concerns about the gear properly extending. Pilot successfully landed aircraft without further incident. Pilot stated that he had not confirmed that the landing gear was down on the first attempt.
