The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On taxi out after refueling, pilot and copilot noticed the wind sock to indicate a light and variable wind estimating to be about 3-4 m.p.h. and indicating a crosswind. After takeoff and about 50 feet in the air, the a/c started to "sag" (owner figures they picked up a tail wind). The flaps had been retracted one nortch, the pilot then put the flaps down and began a right turn, then a left turn and dropped the a/c on the ground to prevent the a/c from hitting a ditch.privacy data omitted
