From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Mr. David leland stated to me that he was flying to Wexford County Airport to take a check ride for his private pilot certificate. Upon landing on runway 07 Mr. Leland stated that the tail would not come down when the main gear touched down. After touching down, the aircraft started veering right and lifted off the ground at which time Mr. Leland stated he turned the yoke hard left. At this time the aircraft turned left and touched down again hard and broke off the right landing gear. The aircraft continued skidding off to the left until it rested in the grass about four feet on the side of the runway.
