What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
The incident flight was a student pilot's first solo flight in a Cessna 152. After completing one pattern to a successful landing and subsequent takeoff the student flared late on landing and bounced, porpoising the aircraft. During the porpoise he lost directional control and departed the prepared runway surface. The aircraft impacted a runway edge light and a taxiway light and came to a stop approximately 150 feet to the left of the runway surface in the grass. There was a cut in the nose tire and no other damage to the aircraft.
