From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot stated after skydivers exited the aircraft, he began descent for landing at 77S. At approx. 2000 feet the engine lost power. Pilot made the decision that the aircraft could not reach the airport and elected to make a precautionary landing in a pasture. As the aircraft was rolling out, the right wing tip struck a metal fence post and received minor damage. Post incident investigation revealed a small dent in the engine cowling on the lefthand side. A small ding was also noted on one propeller blade, no other damage noted. This inspector is presently waiting on statements from the pilot and the aircraft owner.
