From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot momentarily lost directional control on landing roll during crosswind practice touch and go operations on a 100 foot wide concrete runway. The pilot said he misapplied the brakes instead of rudder and the left main gear ran off the left side of runway 17, but he was able to make a successful go-around. The tower controller saw that loss of control and asked the pilot to return to the ramp for an inspection of the aircraft. Pilot says that he and the CFR firefighters inspected both the aircraft and the runway lights and found no damage.
