From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 11/17/99 at 1850 hrs. A Beech baron model 55-T42A, registration number N41288, registered to weeling air travel, inc. of north brook IL and piloted by Mr. Joseph miller of glenco IL left runway 19L after landing. The pilot reported a loss of rudder control at the point of nose gear touch down which caused the aircraft veer of the runway. Skid marks left by both main gear tires and nose tire of N41288 indicate the aircraft began to deviate east of the center line of 19L approximately 86 feet north of taxi way alpha 5 and continued towards the edge of the runway for approximately 270 feet before entering a grassy area. Tire tracks in the grass indicate the aircraft continued for approximately 220 feet before impacting a 2-3 foot embankment. The aircraft's impact was of sufficient nature to collapse the nose gear and separate the nose gear fork and tire from the nose gear piston (assembly part number R-35-825195-79). The nose fork and tire were found at the top of the embankment and slash marks observed in the soil at the impact area indicate both propellers made contact with the ground at this time. The aircraft came to rest approximately 100 feet past the top of the embankment with main gears extended and in a nose down position. An examination of the aircraft at the Raytheon maintenance hanger on 11/19/99 demonstrated flight control and nose steering continuity. As no specific mechanical malfunction can be identified at this time, this incident remains under investigation. Additionally however, an examination of isis airman report indicated the ilot did not have a current medical. A telephone interview with the pilot and a review of the pilots medical certificate confirmed an expiration date of 02/28/99. privacy data omitted

As the FAA filed it

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^
