From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The aircraft departed crest airpark (S36) and was on an IFR flight plan to eugene, Oregon, (eug). During cruise at alt. 8000 ft., about 30 miles south of olympia, WA, the right engine oil pressure began to decrease causing the propeller to go to low pitch. At alt. 5000 ft the propeller was manually feathered and then sea-atc directed the pilot to the Scappoose airport, Scappoose, Oregon. The aircraft uneventfully landed. The mechanic found that the oil pressure regulator spring, Lycoming pn 68668, was broken. The spring was replaced and then the engine operated normally. The mechanic submitted an m or d, FAA form 8010-4, dated 1/11/00, stating as such. Discussion with the aircraft's maintenance personnel and the maintenance records did not show any recent maintenance to the oil pressure regulator assembly.

As the FAA filed it
