From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Mr. Donald waltz experienced a power loss on climb out from rwy 18 at approx. 300'AGL. He then tried to turn back to the airport, after 270 degrees of turn on a heading of approx. 270 degrees, the a/c touched down wings level 300 yards east of rwy 18-36 in a soft soy bean field. After touch down, the nose collapsed, and the a/c flipped over cruising the canopy, making egress impossible until help arrived. The a/c had fuel in both wing tanks and the ground under the fuselage tank was wet from fuel spillage.
