From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23)According to the ATP pilot this was his first long cross-country flight in the six months he had owned the airplane. He had been in-flight for 6 hours and zero minutes when the engine "sputtered" and he executed an engine out emergency landing to a 4 lane undivided highway just 10 miles away from his destination airport. The power-off landing was otherwise uneventful and with law enforcement officers blocking traffic he amde a normal take-off from the same highway after fueling the aircraft.
