From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) In his telephone statement, the pilot said he began transferring fuel from the wing tanks to the fuselage tank during descent into Kansas City. He became distracted and did not stop transferring fuel until he noticed that the wing tanks were getting very low. He advised ATC that he was low on fuel, and the flight was then given priority handling to touchdown. The engines did not flameout, the aircraft was not low on fuel, and there was no equipment malfunction. Incident CE2000IGA058 is closed.
