From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) During takeoff roll on a short runway, as the a/c lifted off, the engine started running rough(hesitating). The pilot stated he pulled the throttle back to get the a/c back on the runway surface, but ended up on wet grass. As a result of wet grass and loss on traction, the pilot stated the a/c could not be stopped before the landing gear impacted a low profile fence. Believe carburetor ice caused the engine run rough and hesitate. Engine performance checked by a & p mechanic. Hesitation could not be duplicated.
