From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23)N16FW was returning from a local flight to lzu. During the approach the landing gear was selected down. The gear light indicated that the gear was down. On the landing rollout the nose gear collapsed. Investigation revealed that the gear light is activated by the gear extension arm not the gear locking mechanism. The owner considers this a poor design and is in the process of rigging the gear light to become a function of the landing locking mechanism. privacy data omitted, The owner and builder, will file a m&d report.
