From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Mesaba catering truck backed into LH aileron causing damage to the LH aileron and wing structure, after servicing another airplane. Driver of truck failed to follow mesaba procedures outlined in company station operations manual (som), by not utilizing a guide. Mesaba's som states "a guide must be utilized during all backing movements and in congested areas" mesaba's safety department has established a corrective action plan to audit fueling, baggage handling, jet bridge operations and catering truck safety concerns and revise operating procedures to reduce a/c damage incidents.
