From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The student pilot reported operating in the traffic pattern on runway 18, which was still wet from a recent rain. After the touchdown on the second touch and go landing, the pilot retracted the flaps and applied power for takeoff. The aircraft veered to the left and the pilot retarded power, but not before the aircraft departed the runway. Before coming to a rest, the aircraft struck a taxiway light on the parallel taxiway. Damage was limited to the nosewheel fork, propeller, and a taxiway light. Flight control and nosewheel steering continuity satisfactory. Mci FSDO incident number CE2001IGA0052 is closed.
