From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) During the take-off roll, the pilot stated that the right brake was "grabbing". This caused the tail to "come up" to a point at which the propeller started striking the runway. The grabbing brake and propeller strikes caused the aircraft to veer right. The pilot applied braking. The right brake started to skid the tire. The aircraft departed the runway and ground looped onto it's back. Subsequent investigation revealed grease covering the brake shoes and a warped wheel hub on the right side. The left side wheel and brake assembly rotated freely, and did not exhibit the same problem as the right side. An annual inspection was performed on June 9, 2001, thirteen flying hours prior to the accident.

As the FAA filed it
