From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The following narrative was developed through an on scene investigation, pilot and witness interviews, by personnel of the allegheny flight standards distric office. The pilot was conducting a pleasure flight from the Mt. Pleasant-scottsdale airport to the arnold palmer regional airport. Upon landing on runway 5, the pilot states he encountered a gust from the right rear of his aircraft causing the right wing to raise up. He states he attempted to correct by applying right aileron and left brake to correct the turn. However, the aircraft began to pivot on the left main landing gear to the right. The left main gear collapsed under the aircraft and the left wing and propeller came in contact with the runway as the aircraft continued to turn to the right. The aircraft came to rest on heading of approximately 160 degrees at the easterly edge of the runway. Damage to the aircraft included the left wing, left main landing gear, left side of fuselage and propeller.
