From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) According to the pilot, during final approach, approximately 1/2 mile from the approach end of the runway, the aircraft felt as though the propeller had gone into beta. The aircraft began shaking badly and descended quickly. An emergency landing was made in a wet bean field. The propeller made contact with the bean crop. The pilot stated that the engine was still running but the propeller was not turning after landing. He stated that the aircraft came to a quick stop and he shut the engine down. He said prior to this the aircraft and engine were operating normally. Investigation indicates that pilot landed short of runway resulting in propeller, engine and landing gear damage.
