From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot reported that he was taking off using runway 29 at san Luis obisop, CA for a flight to whiteman (whp) with normal instrument indications. He rotated at 85 mph and the aircraft didn't feel or sound right. Therefore, he aborted the takeoff and ran off the end of the runway onto the grass. He then executed the shut down procedure and exited the aircraft. There was no damage to the aircraft, or injury to persons onboard. A subsequent examination of the aircraft at sbp revealed that the friction nut on the throttle cable had completely backed out and came off its normal screw mounting. This situation reduced throttle travel slightly and caused less than maximum takeoff power situation. The discrepancy was corrected which resolved the takeoff power problem.
