From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On sept. 25, 2001, at 11:30 am a Mooney 20-E operated by richard d. zephro, did an emergency landing into Randolph Afb Texas, during a flight from san antonio, Texas to new braunfels, Texas. The flight originated at san antonio, Texas on sept. 25, 2001, at approximately 11:20 am. The cause of the emergency was due to a bent stem in the diaphragm of the fuel servo. During the internal inspection of the fuel servo, it was discovered that the diaphragm contained some foreign matter, (possibly dirt). It appears that the foreign matter contributed to the bending of the stem of the diaphragm.
