From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

(-23) On 09/26/2001, at approx 12:30DST, Mr. Rush and one passenger were planning a local flt in the pwa area. They pulled the PT-19 from the hangar and board the acft, but after two attempts to start the acft were unsuccessful, Mr. Rush called "switch off" and exited the acft. At that time Mr. Rush pulled the prop through one time, on the second try the engine had a compression back fire causing the propeller to strike him in the forehead knocking him to the ground. He was taken to a local hospital for medical attention, and after several stitches and observation he was released in good condition.
