From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot-in-command (PIC) was cleared to the hold short point prior to getting clearance to takeoff from runway 27. After getting clearance for takeoff, the PIC made a right turn onto the parallel taxiway and immediately went to full takeoff power. Unbeknownst to the PIC, he was not on runway 27, but instead on the parallel taxiway that leads to runway 27. Hence, he should have taxied another 25-35 yards prior to making another right turn onto runway 27. The tower made several attempts to stop the PIC prior to the airplane crossing the top end of runway 27 before leaving the hard surface into a grassy area. The airplane continued to travel, eventually dropping off a 40 feet embankment. The airplane finally came to rest in an inverted position. The PIC reportedly made several other mistakes while taxiing.

As the FAA filed it
