From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Student pilot was returning to Dalton, GA (dnn) from crossville, TN (csv) on a cross-country solo flight. He reported made a hard landing, nose first, onto runway 32 causing the airplane to porpoise, collapsing the nose landing gear in the process. A segment of the engine mount is broken and another segment is bent. There also appears to be damage to the firewall and structural damage just forward of the windshield, as evident by wrinkling of the skin surface. The propeller is "q-tipped" as a result of striking the ground.
