From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft had departed richfield, UT in route to spanish fork, UT when the aircraft clipped a 25 ft. high power wire over I-15 north bound, 30 miles south of provo, UT. Pilot reported that he was keeping low due to low temperatures aloft and a minimal cabin heater. The pilot decided to go down low enough to read a road mileage sign when he struck the power wire over the freeway, which broke out the windshield. Pilot elected to land straight ahead in the direction of traffic on the freeway. Aircraft landed without further incident. Passenger received cuts on the face from the windshield being broken out on impact.
