What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) The pilot states that he had approximately 32 gallons of fuel onboard at the time of departure. He stated that he had been flying for approximately 45 minutes and was returning to topsail airport. In cruise at 2000 ft. mls, "it stopped pumping fuel." The pilot looked at the fuel pressure gauge and it was below 15 PSI. He turned on the electric boost pump and the pressure went above 20 PSI. Although the engine was windmilling, it never started again. The pilot selected a field that was clear of trees and executed an emergency landing. The aircraft touched down in a soft field and traveled less than 50 feet before flipping over.
