What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(.19) On January 6, 2002, at 1756 eastern standard time, a Beech S35, N7915K, collided with the terrain following a loss of control while on final approach to land on runway 05 (4,540 feet by 75 feet, asphalt) at the tri-State steuban county airport, Angola, Indiana. The pilot and two passengers on board were not injured. The airplane was destroyed by a post impact fire. The airplane was being operated under 14 CFR part 91 as a personal flight. The airplane broke into visual meteorological conditions during the approach; however, the airplane had flow in instrument meteorological conditions on an IFR flight plan. The flight originated from cadillac, Michigan, at 1656 eastern standard time. (-23) on final, for NDB approach to anq-aircraft rolled 90 degrees right, when recovered level, the rate of descent took the aircraft into a ditch, across a road and it came to rest on the embankment short of the runway threshold. A fire started as the aircraft slid across the road and consumed the entire aircraft after pilot and two passengers evacuated safely. Ice had been noted on wings earlier.
