The pilot flying, jeffrey levy, and the flight instructor, david kroc, were not injured. The pilot was receiving dual instruction from the flight instructor since he was not "night current". The pilot was attempting an upwind entry to runway 24, Shannon Airport (ezf), and while completing a "gump" check, moved the fuel selector from the left fuel tank to some point past the right tank detent, which resulted in engine failure.
