From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Wind 260 at 10 KTS. Student pilot, flying solo, departed runway 27L at oak. The incident occurred after a successful landing was completed and the pilot was attempting to take off again. The pilot stated he landed to the right of center, on 27L. He put in left rudder and lined up to the centerline and powered up for take off. As the aircraft speed increased, the aircraft pulled to the left. He pulled power and attempted to control the aircraft with the brakes by applying more pressure on the right brake. The aircraft pulled to the right, then back to the left. The pilot applied both brakes at that point, and skidded off to the left side of the runway. The nose gear sunk into the mud and the prop struck the ground at that point. There was no injuries to the sole pilot and minor damage to the aircraft prop. The student is receiving additional training from his instructor. Post incident inspection of the aircraft showed no defects with the wheels or brakes.
