From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) After takeoff from runway 4R at climb out at approximately 500 feet just after raising the landing gear he proceeded to turn switches off. He switched the a/c switch from a/c to fan seconds later himself and a crew member immediately started to smell smoke followed by seeing a haze of smoke that was coming from the overhead switch panel. The pilot called the tower to request for a normal landing. Upon landing without incident the smoke in the cockpit dissipated. A follow-up with maintenance revealed that the a/c fan switch wiring had not been properly secured, causing the wire to arc and spark. There was no damage at all around the area of the loose wiring.
