From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Mr. Fisher's last bi-annual flight review was on 06/15/95. The last annual inspection on N43085 was done on 06/09/99. Before the accident, the aircraft had last been flown on 03/14/01. The aircraft lost power when it was 30 to 40 feet in the air shortly after getting airborne from Mr. Fisher's private grass landing strip, which is approximately 700 feet in length. While he was trying to restart the engine, he allowed the aircraft to enter a left turn. A public road runs horizontally along the northern side of his property. A public utility power line runs parallel to the road on the same side of the road as Mr. Fisher's property. There is a power line pole to the left of the area immediately ahead of Mr. Fisher's grass landing strip. The aircraft struck the power line pole and crashed in a ditch on the opposite side of the road.
