From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Operator was flying over a field when he noticed the aircraft losing power. Mr. Ewing then advanced the throttle more and noticed that the engine power did not increase. Mr. Ewing, after noticing the aircraft not responding, immediately dumped his load of fertilizer and began his emergency landing. The aircraft touched ground on both mains in a saturated rice field for 125' to a 1' tall hump. The aircraft lifted off the ground for 20' and touched down again, burying both mains, causing the aircraft to nose over and engine to contact the ground for 36', flipping the aircraft inverted.
