What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) The pilot received information from the ground crew that they could see an unusual amount of leakage coming from the belly of the aircraft. At this time the pilot noticed that some of the spray chemical he was distributing was coming into the aircraft cockpit from around the belly skin. The pilot then decreased power to make a turn and dump the remaining chemical from the storage tank. After dumping chemical, the pilot then increased power at the throttle lever but the aircrafts engine did not respond. The pilot then maneuvered the aircraft to a saturated rice field. The aircraft touched down on main landing gear and continued in motion for approximately 200' at which time the main landing gear sank into the mud causing the aircraft to flip inverted.
As the FAA filed it
(-23) THE PILOT RECEIVED INFORMATION FROM THE GROUND CREW THAT THEY COULD SEE AN UNUSUAL AMOUNT OF LEAKAGE COMING FROM THE BELLY OF THE AIRCRAFT.
