From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot was planning to land at ksna to pick up a passenger when the landing gear failed to extend normally. Pilot aborted the landing and circled for more than an hour in the vicinity of the Torrance airport while he attempted to extend the gear both electrically and manually. He also contacted his mechanic who is based at southwest flite center at toa for assistance. After all of his attempts to extend the gear were unsuccessful, he notified the ktoa ATCT that he would land gear-up and was cleared to do so.
