From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) 07/12/02: Talked with pilot at time of accident by phone. Pilot said he was doing ILS approach to esn and landed and gave power to takeoff (touch and go). Pilot said the aircraft felt a little different (like a settling feeling). Pilot pushed engine controls forward for the takeoff and reached down on the console but does not knot if he put up the gear or flaps. The owner stated that there is the possibility he moved the gear handle instead of the flaps; he just cannot say for sure. The right nose gear collapsed and the left gear was down and locked. Talked with joe marsh (airport manager) who helped with the moving of the aircraft from the runway. Bob gretz from NTSB said it ok to move aircraft from runway. There were no injuries. Pilot and passenger both sent statements.
