From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Oshkosh airventure VFR arrival. Aircraft was assigned to 18 left, then cleared to sidestep to 18R and land on the numbers of the displaced threshold on 18R. Aircraft touched down, bounced, the right wing struck the runway, then the left wing struck the runway, then touched down, stopped and nosed over onto prop & spinner. Both pilots indicated they were on the controls and felt they were in the vortices of a small bi-plane that landed in front of them. Neither pilot could provide documentation of currency or bfr. Wind was 230/09G15.
