From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot was demonstrating an emergency descent to landing at the False River airport (hzr). During this maneuver the pilot noticed that he had misjudged his altitude-vs-descent rate. Upon noticing this, the pilot advanced the throttles and place the aircraft in a nose up attitude in an unsuccessful effort to reduce the rate of descent of the aircraft. The aircraft then touched down creating a hard landing condition. The pilot then completed a successful go-around to the north of False River airport and returned to baton rouge metropolitan airport (btr). The postflight inspection revealed that the l/h propeller blades were bent. Hard landing inspection revealed no further damage.
