Approximately 22 miles east of Bakersfield CA the aircraft lost engine power which required the pilot to make an emergency landing after attempting numerous engine restarts which were unsuccessful. The emergency landing was at a closed airport rio bravo (L91) 12 miles east of Bakersfield CA. The aircraft landed hard on the right hand tip tank which was ripped from the aircraft depositing 80 gals of fuel on the ground. The aircraft continued striking a telephone pole with the left wing then contacting the ground rupturing the left wing tip tank depositing 80 to 100 gals. Of fuel the main landing gear folded into the wing upon contact and the nose gear was ripped from the aircraft.
