From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The student pilot was completing a cross country solo flight. At approximately 12:10 EST the student pilot noted a change in the engine noise level followed by a loss of engine RPM. When the aircraft lost speed and nosed over the engine recovered. The student pilot pulled the nose up to gain altitude when the engine stopped completely. The aircraft came to rest in a wooded area approximately 100 yards from a nearby home. The aircraft struck trees and came to rest inverted. The pilot received no injuries as a result of the impact. She was able to exit the aircraft through the broken windshield and walk to the nearby home for assistance.
