From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft was observed throughout approach and landing. During landing aircraft touched down with only left main gear on the runway (approximately 3 feet from edge of pavement). Throughout remainder of landing attempt the right main gear encountered significant drag in soft dirt and terrain sloping downhill from the runway. The drag on that gear caused the aircraft to depart further from the runway, whereby the right wing encountered a tree, further pulling the aircraft to the right, away from the runway area. As the aircraft continued the right wing was removed by contact with another tree, followed by subsequent contact with additional trees which separated the left wing, and empennage from the main fuselage structure. Fuselage came to rest upside down against a tree.

As the FAA filed it
