From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) During take off from a private dirt/grass runway, aircraft hit an unseen hole in the runway. In flight pilot observed that the left tire was out of alignment. Continuing on to Byron Airport the pilot made contact with ground personnel and asked them to observe landing gear during low altitude fly by. During the second fly by, they advised the pilot that the left landing gear was not in correct position. Pilot made a third fly by executing a touch and go on the right gear only. The final approach was a touch down on the right gear only. When the aircraft slowed to almost a stop, both right and left main landing gear collapsed with minor damage to the aircraft.
