From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot departed lvk enroute to C83 and climbed to 2600 feet. Outside brushy peak pilot called C83, requesting airport advisories and made a small reduction in the power setting. Descending through 1800 feet pilot reduced power to 2100 RPM and engine began to run rough. Pilot applied carburetor heat, checked magnetos settings, verified fuel selector was in full position but to no avail, the engine stopped running and pilot declared an emergency, established best glide at 45 mph, reviewed emergency check list and landed in a clear area west of C83, and touched down in the grass area, sustaining minor damage to aircraft. Post lvk weather reports verify serious icing conditions for carburetor icing at glide power.
