From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot stated that after touch down, with a slight quartering tailwind, the aircraft started to drift to the left. The pilot attempted to correct this by an application of full right rudder. When aircraft did not respond he applied full brakes and aircraft came to full stop off the runway. The aircraft was inspected by a certified mechanic and no mechanical malfunctions were noted. All systems operated normally and there was no damage to the aircraft. Aircraft was returned to service. The student pilot was counseled about keeping control of an aircraft while landing with a slight quartering tail wind. Pilot has subsequently taken his private pilot check ride with a designated examiner and passed with a private pilot certificate being issued. This report closes out the investigation of this incident.
