From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On Saturday, March 8, 2003, during a landing at the Genesee County Airport (gvq) in Batavia, NY, N113SM, a murphy manufacturing model elite aircraft, pilot by Dr. Bernard asher, with one passenger on board, crashed approximately mid-point on runway 28. There were no injuries or fatalities. The right gear strut broke at the fuselage attachment and the propeller was curled backwards. The pilot stated all aircraft systems were operating normally. The aircraft was on a VFR flight from gvq, overflew attica, NY and was attempting to land at gvq at 1230 p.m. when a gusting crosswind from the south (160 degrees to 220 degrees) picked up the left wing and caused the right gear to land hard and partially separate from the mounting. The tail-wheeled aircraft ground-looped to the right while the propeller and cowl contacted the runway. The aircraft came to rest almost 180 degrees from the direction of travel. Buffalo fss reported at 1155 a.m., winds were 220 degrees at 10 knots and at 1255 p.m., winds were 210 degrees at 8 knots. Rochester's national weather service reported at 1155 a.m., winds were 190 degrees at 9 knots and at 12:55 p.m., winds were 160 degrees at 10 knots. This incident is considered closed.
