From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 03/26/03 (approximately 1530 hours) a Cessna 210M (N965B) operated by matthew thomas jay (pilot certificate #448888416) executed a missed approach into the Dodge City airport on runway 20. When the pilot selected gear up he heard a loud bang and the landing gear motor continued to run. The pilot then pulled the landing gear circuit breaker and pumped the gear down until the landing gear green annunciator illuminated. The pilot then proceeded with the go around and landed the aircraft. On touchdown and rollout the pilot felt the aircraft's right main gear starting to collapse. The aircraft rolled off to the right side of the runway approximately 15-20 feet and stopped. The pilot egressed from the aircraft without incident and was not injured. The pilot stated that the underside of the aircraft was contaminated with hydraulic fluid. Crotts aircraft services removed the aircraft from the airfield. During the initial damage inspection the hydraulic accumulator was discovered ruptured. An m&d report will be submitted to this office.
