From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot-in-command, weeks, was preparing to perform an exhibition flight for the spectators at the world's Greatest aircraft collection (a/k/a fantasy of flight). A crosswind prevailed, but it was also a variable wind. The pilot commented that the windsock was switching. At the time of the attempted takeoff the wind switched to a quartering tailwind. The pilot decided to abort the takeoff; and as he did, he lost control and ended up ground looping the plane. Damage was limited to the plane's left wingtip and wheels.
