From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot stated he completed the pre-landing check list and turned short final for runway 31R at Reid-Hillview municipal airport (rhv). The landing gear indicator showed three green lights. After touchdown on the main gear the nose wheel settled to the ground and rolled momentarily. Within a few feet, the nose gear collapsed and the aircraft began skidding on its nose. During this time it began veering to the right. He applied left rudder to try and keep the aircraft going straight down the runway. When it came to a stop, he sat there for a few seconds then secured the aircraft and exited.
