From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot began flight from cihal airstrip at approximately 12:25 CST. The flight was conducted for the purpose of aerial application. As the pilot was finishing the job the pilot flew southbound along the east edge of the field. High tension powerlines run east to west and divide the field. As the aircraft approached the powerlines the pilot intended to fly under the lowest set of wires. The pilot states that he did not in fact see the lowest set. The aircraft impacted these wires. After impact the aircraft rolled left and collided with the ground in a nose down attitude.
