From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) At 1545E, American eagle flight 4745, an E135, enroute to the boston, ma airport diverted and landed on runway 19 after shutting down the number 2 engine due to a fire warning indication light. The ARFF responded and no fire was observed. The runway was closed and the 37 passengers were deplaned onto a people mover via the L-1 door onto taxiway "a" with no reported injuries. The runway was reopened at 1555E, with minor impact reported to ATC services and the aircraft was then towed to the ramp without incident. Maintenance inspected the aircraft for evidence of fire and determined that the indication was false and removed and replaced the right engine fire detection control module as the suspected cause of the false indication. The aircraft was then repositioned to lga where the carrier elected to replace the right engine a and b fire loops. Review of aircraft log revealed that the right engine fire detection control module had been previously replaced due to system faulting in yqb, and then had further problems that were corrected by cleaning an electrical connector in bos on 5/26/03.

As the FAA filed it
