From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot stated that upon landing it felt like someone was on the brakes, either himself or the passenger who is a student pilot. The pilot made a point that this was not a training flight even though the student pilot was on board. The aircraft bounced a couple of times and started sliding sideways and was near the edge of the runway when the gear collapsed. It was found that the welds on this experimental aircraft's landing gear were poor, contributing to the accident. privacy data omitted

As the FAA filed it

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^
